Privacy policy

How financecalc.co.uk handles information when you use this website or contact us.

Who is responsible

This website is owned and published by financecalc.co.uk. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean financecalc.co.uk. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email [email protected].

Calculator inputs

The figures you enter into our calculators are processed in your browser. Our calculator code does not transmit these figures to our server or save them in cookies or browser storage. Your browser may independently restore form state through its history or autofill features. Avoid entering personal identifiers: they are not needed to use these tools.

Website requests and search terms

Visiting a website necessarily sends technical information to its hosting infrastructure, including your IP address, requested URL and browser information. Infrastructure providers may process request logs for delivery, security and troubleshooting. Our search uses a URL query, so search terms can appear in your browser history and server request logs. Do not enter personal financial details in search.

Our basis for necessary delivery and security processing is our legitimate interest in providing and protecting the website. We do not use calculator input data for profiling or marketing.

If you contact us

We receive your email address, message and any details you choose to include. We use correspondence to answer your request, investigate corrections or handle complaints. This is based on our legitimate interest in running and improving the site. Where processing is needed to meet a legal obligation or a data-rights request, that obligation is our basis.

We keep correspondence only as long as needed for the request and any associated dispute or legal requirement. You can ask us to delete correspondence, subject to applicable exceptions. Please do not email bank details, identification documents or account credentials.

Service providers and international transfers

Hosting and email providers may process technical data and correspondence on our behalf. We may also disclose information where required by law or needed to protect legal rights. We do not sell personal information. Where a service provider processes personal data outside the UK, applicable data-protection safeguards must be in place. Contact us for information about providers and safeguards applicable to your request.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

The current site does not load advertising or analytics scripts and does not set advertising or analytics cookies. See our cookie and advertising policies for details. Before introducing advertising or additional tracking, we will update these disclosures and implement the necessary consent controls.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it. Contact [email protected]; we may need proportionate information to verify your request.

You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how personal information is handled. We would welcome the opportunity to address your concern first.

Children and changes to this policy

The website provides general information and does not ask children to supply personal information. Please contact us if you believe a child has sent personal information that should be removed. We may update this policy when our practices change; the date on this page identifies the current version.
